Test anxiety can cause fear to well up and anxious feelings during a key test, examination or performance situation.
While a small amount of nervousness is natural and may even help you perform better, test anxiety actually limits the amount of information available to the brain.
While experiencing test anxiety your mind may believe it’s in a “fight or flight” situation. In these types of situations your mind is designed to shut down all unnecessary thoughts and focus on one thing – getting out of your situation immediately or attacking whatever danger or perceived danger is present. While this works fine for saber-tooth tigers it’s not very helpful in the test-taking arena.
Let us help your mind to understand at all levels that this is a safe situation. Your mind is very powerful and just as it can limit your access to information, it can expand your access to information. Allow us to help you have access to all your resources while comfortably taking a test.
